I don't think anyone expects the President to release tapes of diplomatic communication because his opponents have moved from one conspiracy theory to the next. If anything could make diplomacy more ineffectual than it is, that would certainly be it.
Asking the Ukrainian president to look into a pretty obvious case of political corruption is a complete nothing.
The Democratic Party has taken the stance that when they reach out to foreign governments for dirt, it's well in line, but when their opposition does it, it's an abuse of power. Perhaps Biden shouldn't have so many skeletons in his closet.
idc about biden, he's a corporate establishment puppet, and i'd happily see him out of the race. that's not the point though.
your description of trump's behaviour towards ukraine is ridiculously biased.
sure, a simple request concerning the investigations of a specific case would be maybe just fishy (considering it's against a political opponent), but not SUCH a big deal. however, not only did
trump actively suspend military aid to ukraine just a week before the call and made more than clear hints that
zelenskiy's help to dig up dirt on biden would be the favour he wanted in return for those means, he also did something similar earlier,
holding back promised javelin missiles to STOP ukrainian investigations into manafort. so much for the laughably flimsy
'b-b-but trump is merely supporting law and order in ukraine, he has no personal political interest when he interferes with their investigations' narrative...
