those that actually benefit from trump economics don't wear red hats. trump has done nothing for "steel ghosttowns" but give them false hope, empty promises, and a couple of clearly defined scapegoats. when the deficit that his tax cuts for billionaires created crashes the economy, they will get another lesson where republicans are the biggest "communists" in the world: by socialising the losses of their irresponsible policies. the left loves to spend on people (healthcare, education, wages, food programs), the right loves to spend on themselves (tax breaks for corporations and rich people, wars, favours for their donors in big oil, big pharma).
while all of that is true it does nothing to address that they voted for trump as an effort to improve their local economies and lives, foolishly so, rather than "racist" motivations. but would be labelled racists for their vote nonetheless.
you said they dont have the balls to admit their votes, which is saying they dont have the balls to get called racists falsely. that doesnt sound brave, nor does not saying it. its just self preservation that hurts no one.
