There was a similar reaction as it relates to Trump's behavior in office. At a certain point Republicans just got tired of people bringing up his ridiculous behavior... whether it was the tweets or something else. We were all supposed to just get over it... "it's just the way he is", and expressing concern over it meant you suffered from TDS.
