Here's how I more or less see this going
Barr has shown himself to be a stooge already, so he will, with the FCC, try to crack down on the mild "censorship" Twitter has done. Twitter, along with a coalition of other media outlets, will sue. Trump and Co. will fight the good fight, get smacked down all the way to the supreme court, the supreme court will go something like 7-2 against Trump (see PragerU vs YouTube) and all that this will accomplish is a set of specific rulings that allows the media to be even more brazen in their political activism. Conservatives will get even more butthurt, wash rinse repeat.
Depends what you consider "mild". Milo had millions of followers. They banned him over a negative review of a terrible movie. They justified it by saying his followers were being mean to an actress. He wasn't even banned for his own actions. They held him responsible under publishers terms... Over mean words.
Where's Milo now? He started up his own project afterwards, but it was going nowhere, then Joe Rogan hit, and he kind of disappeared. He's around, but nobody's paying attention. A super public figure with millions of followers, gaining millions in funding, relegated to the "Yeah, who cares" of history. With a click of a button.
"Minor" is in the eye of the beholder. Your idea that Platforms acting as publishers won't be held to account is incredibly bold. If that's how it turns out, quote this post, and I'll be happy to eat crow. I think you're full of shit though.
