If its just an ethics violation then its just something to be handled internally and locally and not really a national news story. Shes a Democrat in California, not a contested seat or anything to make this interesting.

in the #MeToo/#TimesUp era any person in power that sleeps with a subordinate is national news worthy. that's not my opinion (quite the opposite in fact) it's just a simple observation of reality.

we have 5 year old tweets from barely known directors (james Gunn, movies known but he's not exactly an A list director)

we have GOP congressman's past being a national news story for a month all for a special election seat that was a 6 month service (Roy Moore)

according to the #metoo logic, its not about the size and scale of the person in power. its about exposing any and all cases in an attempt to socially engineer these problematic relationships out of society.

I just read up on the whole story on Politico, a legitimate news outlet, and it appears that it’s a case of he-said, she-said in a contentious divorce battle. The only illegal actions that have been proven are the illegal publishing of revenge porn by Republicans, who received non consensual revenge porn photos from the soon to be ex husband. Hill denied all allegations. Looks like he and some Republican operatives will be facing jail time and she won’t. You guys are great at shooting yourselves in the feet with manufactured scandals.

in conventional logic, just learning a member of congress was having an affair would be newsworthy. Having an affair with a staffer would be career ending national scandal, of which there were... several, especially after the republicans tried to impeach Clinton and got shown to be hypocrites over and over during the moralizing 90s. And that was before these ethics rules were even in place, which if I've got my facts straight, were added two years ago by Republicans in response to MeToo and then reratified by Democrats, all pledging to abide by them. And as far as an affair with two staffers, while having threesomes and having your nude pics leaked? hah

Not sure it's so smart to compare Roy Moore profile (which include RAPE on MINORS) vs (hypothetical) consensual adults sex.

scoffing at comparisons is the only unsmart thing here.

there's no reason that you can't compare any thing to any thing, as long as you put it in valid context.

is Roy Moore objectively way worse of an alleged crime, sure. but Roy Moore also has never been proven guilty, by a court of law or otherwise. whereas this person, who is clearly not as evil (if moore's allegations are true, and i believe they are) but she's got nude pics and testimony nailing her to the wall.

and in any case Moore was just the first example that came to mind, there are far more valid comparisons of no-name congresspeople that have gotten in trouble for relatively the same crime. they're just far more forgettable.

Theres degrees of badness though.

Roy Moore trying to pick up teenagers is way worse than Gunn making tweets a decade ago that he apologized for is worse than a relationship with no negative accusations from any party. If the staffers come out and say they were not comfortable and forced into it that would explode it into a national story, but for now its pretty low on the "metoo" scale of naughty.

of course that was when it was applied to men (by "feminists" of course) that would never dare apply the same standard to women.

i support this type of story blowing up as big as it can just as counter evidence against such dullards.

and as i said above, obviously there are degrees of badness, and degrees of proof. Moore is just a pertinent example. there have been many senators/congressmen as goom said that have been pushed from office over just sleeping with staffers, devoid of threesomes or nude pic leaks.

of course now the #metoo idiots will call her nude pics empowering, talk about how she's subverting expectations in a predominately male role, and how her threesomes show sexual forwardness that we as men can't criticize otherwise we're trying to peg her into a traditional woman's role in society.

#metoo was never about equality, it was a dangerous trip into the mind of a woman. the mind of a female is generally full of contradictions and too emotionally based rather than logically based. all you need to do to prove that is walk around town with a hobo and Ryan Reynolds. have the hobo tell the woman "nice tits", then when she scoffs ask if its ever ok for a man to say that to a woman he's never even met. wait for the "no of course not", then have Ryan say it. watch them blush and ask for a selfie. #metoo is based on the lie that there is a way women want to be treated, when in reality there's a group of men they want them to treat them differently than all other men. this list grows and shrinks in real time and there's no way to know if you're on it unless you ask, at which time you're taken off it for asking.



EDIT: on an entirely unrelated note i was today days old when i found out the term "lynching" doesn't exclusively refer to hanging. but that it does exclusively refer to killings by a mob. i thought it was the opposite, where lynching meant hanging, but was used especially when done by a mob.

You completely derailed in comparing Roy Moore (accused of 7 sexual abuses, some on minors) vs a "case" (nvm it's not even a case) where there's simply zero accusation.
Ofc you can compare "things" as much as you want... Even if it's a bad idea

What you call contradictions and emotion is what I call natural selection and logic. Women are the gatekeepers to the human race, as designed by nature. For about 10,000 years now men have subverted nature. Otherwise we would have vast societies of almost entirely females with a few top genetic specimen men to breed with them. Women are doing little more than following natural order and it is also quite logical. Breeding with lesser men dilutes the human race. Allowing the male population to explode results in catastrophic wars, slavery, social disorder and violence, and authoritarian rule.
