Every time this woman is in the news, I am still completely fucking mystified at how she has managed to avoid any public scrutiny over the fact she literally married her own brother.
It never made it beyond the right-wing sphere. The AP, NYT, WaPo, Snopes, etc all just covered it as an
accusation, completely neglecting to examine any of the evidence while acknowledging that she has failed to provide any evidence contradicting it and won't even answer basic questions like the names of her siblings or how many brothers she has.
I cannot get over the fact that national headlines are being dominated by someone who has an absurdly salacious scandal that is not only accessible to the public but known in detail by many major journalists, yet nobody is willing to write about it.
Because I've gone over it many times and there's just so much undeniable proof of it from those social media posts. A real clumsy attempt to cover it up, because she spent all of 2011-2016 publicly posting pictures and comments of herself and her brother interacting as they lived together, then later tried to pretend she has had no contact with that man since 2011 and he's unrelated and her father even changed his name. It would be like if Donald Trump Jr. got indicted for racketeering and Donald J. Trump tried to claim he had no connection to him, had never interacted with him before, refused to name his sons, and changed his name to Daniel Drumpf. I mean, her father's name is Nur Said Elmi, son of Mohamed, and her husband is Ahmed, son of Nur Said Elmi. C'mon.
