Well, a left-wing populist choosing a reality tv star(with right-wing populist beliefs) over a pro-war, pro-free trade, open borders corporate Democrat makes at least a tiny bit of sense to me. But when it's the right-wing populist vs a bonafide left-wing populist, it does feel a little personality cultish to me.

Bernie can't be the candidate and Trump needs to win in 2020. The DNC and DCCC need to be fucking razed to the ground and this is the only way forward. Pelosi has proven that.
