Its stupid because there are resultant effects. You raise the price of education and you lower its quality. Choices have consequences.

But the distribution of intelligences among the population remains the same... education doesn't make people stupid people rich, only if you already have the underlying potential.

This is true, but education does prepare people more for a more automated society, and it does help the intelligent among us who are born into bad circumstances.

Most really unintelligent people can't get through serious education, even with a major work ethic and supports. Education is definitely a good way to see who is who at least...a good metric. I wouldn't say it measures raw intelligence but it measures ability and capability which intelligence is just one component of. I know a chemical engineer who is trained as a patent lawyer and he is unemployable because of his toxic personality. So his MS and JD make him even smart and capable, but still the vast majority of people are happier or at least more functional. My friend, dude's cousins, is just a lowly nurse doing ok for himself.

So to reinforce your point it is a bit more complicated than education = smarts = rich.

Also I would challenge the rich = happy internal logic if that is what is there.

Not really. You can download the curriculum for almost any skillset for free online nowadays. The degree ends up being a piece of paper you need to work in some jobs.

You fall into the Marxist trap of selfish possessions as well. It not that the making 80k makes you happy. Doing skilled and satisfying labor for others makes you happy and part of something greater than yourself

If you're barely making enough to get by and are constantly worrying about your bills and whether you'll have enough to get your next meal, the skilled and satisfying labor doesn't mean shit.
