Good and bad about this guy? I've seen a few interviews he was in and he doesn't seem stupid and seems like a good possible candidate, but I don't know everything (or much) about him. What do you guys know about him?

One of the better Democrats. I judge based on the things he's talking about. He's tackling economics, a real issue, and skipped the Orange Man Bad routine or identity politics. I think long term his UBI plan is flawed and would actually increase illegal immigration, the debt, devalue our dollar, etc, but it's a breath of fresh air to hear a Democrat not play the usual card we've been hearing from the rest of them.

This. And on top of that, he's one of very few candidates thinking about a huge future problem and a possible solution (automation and UBI).

He's the best among the Democrats as far as fair temperament and being able to pass his legislation as a moderate.

If he is elected he will heal the partisan divide.

However his policies, especially UBI will fail.

I'm sceptical of the UBI as well, but he's at least thinking about the issues which automation will raise in the future. Him gaining traction would mean that the whole country and public discourse start acknowledging this problem and start analyzing and debating possible solutions. If UBI is a horrible idea, someone will point it out before it becomes legislation. Then, we could still start looking for other solutions to automation.

UBI sounds good to me tbh. Sometimes you need to test untested things that you only theorize about on society to see if it'll help or not. And this won't cause any harm, at worst it'll be pointless.

A young dynamic visionary with an actual strategy to problem-solve (whether or not his policies will work in this country remains to be seen but i’ll take an extra $12k a year) and no desire to play petty identity politics. Something the (D)s sorely need. Makes sense why the privileged lefties are rejecting him and certainly crush him if he gets any momentum

With the unemployment rate lower than 4% (which is unreal), I don't think it will ever be a problem. Jobs are simply being created much faster than they are being destroyed.

Easy to say 4% unemployed when people who gave up looking do not count.
