In this situation the stabber is between you and police, and any bullets that miss or penetrate are coming into your body. also in this situation allegedly you are in a pack that jumped the knife wielder.

"i want the cops to save me" is a nice idea, it just lacks any and all context for this specific situation.

The context makes the would-be victim more or less to blame, and more or less sympathetic. But it doesn't change the underlying calculation. Lethal force was being applied, and the officer responded proportionately.

legally i agree, morally i wish she was pepper sprayed opening a potential she stabs someone.

its just a calculation of lethality of 4 guaranteed center mass shots vs 1 potential stabbing.

or better yet hit her with a tazer or bean bags.

once legality is settled its a judgement call really. middle aged black female neighbor backing the officer is not good for BLM protesters.
