The former White House adviser and reality TV star spoke Wednesday afternoon with MSNBC’s Craig Melvin, who asked her to justify her claim that Trump knew about emails stolen from the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee before they were dumped online by WikiLeaks.

“That’s the most explosive allegation that you’ve made, and it’s not even in the book,” Melvin said.

Manigault, who said she has been interviewed in the special counsel probe, said that omitted allegation was related to the Mueller investigation.

“There’s some things that are involved in this investigation, the Mueller investigation, that I was very careful not to put in the book,” she said.

Melvin asked if she had proof that Trump knew about the hacked emails before they were posted online, and she declined to answer — but hinted she might have given that evidence to Mueller.

“I can’t even talk about the things that I talked with them,” Manigault said. “I can’t talk about the things I’ve submitted to them, but I want you to know that I fully continue to cooperate with this investigation.”

The Special Counsel's Office has almost three times the number of exhibits it wants to show a jury in Paul Manafort's next criminal trial compared with what it used in his Virginia case.

The evidence for the two trials largely doesn't overlap, according to a court filing Thursday from Manafort's legal team.

The two criminal cases that President Donald Trump's former campaign manager faces do overlap in how they hinge on his alleged political consulting work in Ukraine. But the filing on Thursday shows just how expansive an investigation Robert Mueller's team has conducted on Manafort, and how the next trial could be just as revelatory as the first.

In Manafort's Virginia trial, which began on July 31, prosecutors presented nearly 400 financial records, emails and other documents to the jury. Manafort's team says the prosecutors have "well over" 1,000 pieces of evidence lined up for the DC federal case, set to go to trial in September. The judge in DC told the prosecutors on Thursday to "review" their evidence collection "with an eye towards streamlining the presentation of its case."

I'm reading on some twitter feed that (to quote from) "Manafort's team used a damn charr with about 20 levels of 'guilty' on it. Likely a tactic to confuse jurors and it seemed to work"

Much like the American constitution the Magna Carta is not necessarily something we should be taking lessons from today. Back then the 'right to trial by a jury of your peers' was to curb the powers of a monarch who abused the law as a means of stealing land for the crown and punishing dissidents... or at least that's how the Baron's saw it. Nowadays we have a legal system in place that demands a fair trial. While in America that's difficult to get due to the televisation for entertainment of major trials it certainly wouldn't be damaged, and likely would be improved, by filling a jury with legal experts instead of randos.

Manafort Judge Says He's Received Threats

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/402369-manafort-judge-says-hes-received-threats

The judge in the tax and bank fraud trial against one-time Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort said Friday he’s been threatened over the case, denying a request from media outlets to release the names and addresses of the jurors.
Judge T.S. Ellis III said he's not going to reveal the specifics of the threats he received.

I though there was some kind of "reserve duty"

WaPo article i just read confirmed this, said defense attorneys used "a thermometer chart to make the point".

Apparently DA Kevin Downing was pleased about the jury's questions.

U.S. special counsel recommends six months in prison for Papadopoulos

“The defendant lied in order to conceal his contacts with Russians and Russian intermediaries during the campaign and made his false statements to investigators on January 27, 2017, early in the investigation, when key investigative decisions, including who to interview and when, were being made,” Mueller said.

Mueller said the government believed a sentence of up to six months in prison was “appropriate and warranted” along with a fine of $9,500.

Papadopoulos unwittingly played a key role in triggering the FBI investigation into possible collusion between Trump’s campaign in Russia, which the president repeatedly has denounced as a “witch hunt.”

Could it be that Mueller is giving himself a backdoor. A way to wrap up the investigation without claiming collusion between Trump and Russia.

He doesn't need a back door. If there's no evidence he will announce it at the end. That's how an investigation works, because this is not and never has been an unfair investigation.

Ofc it has. :/

The only reason this investigation happened was to draw eyes away from what the democrats had been up to. I mean Hillary was caught red handed and ... nothing. Can't have the American people realizing that, now can we. I go it... let's make up some BS about Trump and no one will even be thinking about Hillary and the democrats.

No Mueller doesn't NEED back door, but one would definitely be handy for a republican that has just spent two years chasing BS that even he knows, didn't happen.
