maybe look up what "religion" means, and then look up if an overwhelming majority of US citizens if for or against repealing roe v wade, and then tell my why it's a good thing that an extremist religious minority can impose their will onto a majority, without simply stating that you personally like it - try to formulate a valid argument in its favour.

First of all, the authors of the Constitution not only mention God, they even mention that Jesus is God.
They do this in the ratification clause.
This was done "in the Year of Our Lord" 1787.

imposing the religious values of a minority on everyone, turning half the population into second class citizen, through a judiciary that acts as servants to god, not the people? did you merely misspell theocracy?

It's not about abortion, it's not about religion. It's about the Constitution.
Some in the US have been veering away from the Constitution. That's NOT a good thing.

There are ways to amend the Constitution, and those are not being utilized.
What is happening is that some are attempting to "get around", sidestep, the Constitution by trickery, flim-flammery, etc.

The Supreme Court just put a stop to two of these attempts.

I don't even like the OP there, but that was a legitimate discussion thread, mods. Why would you close that?

probably just a blanket slapping of all his activities yesterday.

i got suspended yesterday for “flaming” (aka: calling out racism-laced posts by the usual suspects here) because he and the other usual narcs were crying/mass reporting all over the forum. sauceman666060666 encouraging violence/making racist statements was probably not held in high regard

I still don't understand why anyone would listen to a European about their opinion on American politics.

Almost everyone is a 'libertarian' at heart, wanting to optimize liberties and individual autonomy and self-determination. They just disagree over what those liberties are, and how they are best optimized, what balances are necessary for government intervention to protect rights in one way by infringing on them in another. Without police officers maintaining public order and stopping crime, you have no freedom to live unmolested by criminals. With big brother breathing down your neck and invading your privacy in the name of stopping crime, you have no freedom to live unmolested by your government. Well, besides the philosophically dubious rights of the unborn, Roe v Wade pitted the self-determination of the voters of America against the protected minority abortion-seeking women in majority-pro-life states. Its a clear cut example where if abortion access was enshrined in the constitution like equal protections or due process or other native rights, then the constitution would be serving to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority, its role in a democratic constitutional republic. But clear-cut that it was not. It was always pretty clear from a dry legal vantage that Roe v Wade was the epitome of judicial activism, inventing doctrine out of whole cloth to reach a political end. It was a balance of right that were stolen for one group, from another group. And now they'll be stolen back. Because that's one of the weaknesses of a democratic republic, one lacking constitutional protections- the tyranny of the majority comes to fruition. If you let the people of Kentucky or South Dakota or Louisiana decide, they choose to ban abortion. If you let the people of Ukraine decide, they vote for a pro-Russian government. If you let the people of the middle east decide, they vote for ISIS, and their idea of a 'handmaid's tale' role for women is a whole lot less histrionic and hyperbolic than what feminists are screeching about in America right now.

Poor sauci. If he hadn't made that topic he'd have been fine. Ah well, he'll be back with us soon enough. No worries. ;)

Personally, I don't have a problem with a foreigner who wants to comment on American politics. However, the thing is, pretty much all of them are biased in some way. They are not objectively discussing and appraising US' political affairs. They are all outright shitting on them. Almost all of them have extreme grievances (about a country that they don't reside in). Which is dumb and very non-constructive. It's especially bad if they are from a left-leaning country like France or New Zealand.
