A kid growing up in poverty is better than the kid not given a chance at all. You know why? Because plenty make it out of that rut, and even if they largely get stuck in that existence in poverty and struggle it's still better than not existing at all. Have some compassion. Put yourself in the shoes of the kid that has to skip meals but yet has the desire to exist. What does slavery or torture have to do with anything here?
