Does Pete even have appeal to democratic voters his age and younger? Seems like he is the cute successful nephew type that democratic boomers LOVE. He rubs me like the manager type that will take all the glory and credit for a success, but throw your ass under the bus when there is a failure. Yang gives me the vibe that he is the boss of my boss of my boss at a fortune 500 tech company with 'good culture' practices.

Buttigieg is the "perfect son-in-law" type of guy. He probably usurps the older-white-moderate votes from Biden's failing campaign, but he still hasnt connected with younger voters, like you said, and he still doesnt seem to make the necessary inroads with minorities.
I do think, however, that he is a skilled politician and and could give Bernie/Warren a run for their money if the "moderate lane" and the donor class drop Biden (and Bloomberg) and unite behind him.

Anyway, the guy is clearly a wolf in sheep's clothing. His platform is very liberal on everything that doesnt hurt the one-percenters' bottom line, he has deep ties to elite corporate circles, and he only pretends (so far successfully) to be a moderate.
He's not a young Obama as some have argued, he's a younger, fresher reincarnation of Hillary.

That he is! We'll always wonder if his momentum was blunted at all by Iowa, but it seems like his strategy of saying "victorious" is working really well. The trickling in of votes that corroborated his claim may have inadvertently kept his "win" in the headlines longer than it should have.

Pete is what all of our parents wanted us to be haha. Rhodes scholar, polyglot, worked for a top consulting firm, etc.
Younger voters hate him because they are so fucking jealous lmao. But you're 100% right, he definitely seems like Hillary which I'm 100% okay with.

yep..quite a few people i meet that are lefties in their late 20s-early 40s loathe him and i never can get a clear-cut answer. this probably sums up why they do best.

he doesn’t bother me at all, probably the most sane (D) candidate other than Yang tbh

true, but he's still terrible. as I said, he's a wolf/liberal in a sheep's/moderate's clothing. a good summary is this article:

it can be easy to forget what Buttigieg’s actual policy agenda is. That agenda would easily be the most progressive by any candidate for the general election in decades. Here is a brief rundown of economic and social policies he’s endorsed and promoted:

- A $15-an-hour minimum wage
- Quadrupling the earned income tax credit for single adults
- “Affordable, universal full-day child care and pre-K for all children from infancy to age 5”
- A path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants
- A Medicare buy-in open to all meant to “create a natural glide-path to Medicare for All”
- A cap on all student loan payments as a share of income, forgiven in full after 20 years

But that’s not all. Buttigieg has devoted attention to big structural problems that afflict our democracy, and has proposed solutions that are genuinely radical.

- DC/Puerto Rico statehood, banning gerrymandering, ending the Electoral College, and ending the filibuster
- Expanding and reforming the Supreme Court to curb partisan rulings
- Sectoral union bargaining where agreements apply to whole industries, not just individual companies
- A carbon tax rebated to taxpayers in cash, plus a quadrupling of research and development funding for clean energy

There are several red flags in there, and if you actually go to his cmapaign homepage and read up a bit, you'll find a ton more.

well yeah, he has to have some of the far lefty fringe in there so he can potentially siphon some of Barnie supporters when he gets forced out (again)z. he also doesn’t bother me due to his limited national appeal (so far). he does have the momentum for now that’s for sure

he’s likely to get wiped out in the South like Barnie did in 2016 and people on the left will blame it on all sorts of absurd factors surrounding race and culture and preferences etc.
