Even IF the cops get frisky....it's still their job. They aren't the ones breaking the laws. There's nothing in the constitution that gives anyone the right to burn and loot.

Personally, I think the FED should send in the Marines and round up all the rioters and let them spend a week or two at Paris Island. Then, see if they learned how to calmly protest without acting like third world citizens.

/e Those people aren't protesting, they are breaking the laws of this country.

Freedom to protest brother. The idea there is a 'right way' to protest is comical. They don't need your validation to do it right or wrong ROFL.

Has nothing to do with "my permission". Burning things and looting is illegal... period.

Right to assembly and protest is among core American values, enshrined and protected by the constitution. Corporations are already empowered by their capital and property to have free speech, which the system protects. When I see protesters burning property and attacking capital, seems the dual of what our gov is doing with corps? Capital and property enabling speech rights.....

Anyways, my main issue is there are peaceful protestors mixed in with all these radiaL agitators. These protestors have 100% constitutional rights to be there. It's not there job to sort bad from good, that is the justice systems job.

Not to mention that plenty of rioting started only after police escalated with violence.

I'll repeat the adage once again from earlier in this thread: You reap what you sow.

There are so many people with followings on social media either endorsing or condoning looting. I understand the anger but they should be ashamed of themselves. Peacefully protesting and using your vote is the way forward until the other officers are charged and legislation is introduced to combat police brutality.

The democrats need to propose a bill curbing police officer's rights to get away with murder; there has to be the use of reasonable force in relation to the threat posed. It should be punishable for police to put their knee down on people's necks when they aren't posing an iminent threat, and there needs to be generally less leniency when deaths do happen. Complaints against officers also need to be reviewed more carefully if a pattern of misconduct emerges (this guy had 12+ complaints filed against him). These measures would obviously get rejected by Republicans, but as the public are supportive it would be music to Biden's ears and increase the pressure on Trump come November.

Agreed.

Qualified immunity should be removed.

These riots are about a lot more than the police killing another black man. It lit a powderkeg. People are all getting fired, losing their capitalist healthcare during a pandemic, stuck in their homes while our leaders are cashing in on this, not getting their unemployment benefits, not getting their games and festivals and summer rituals, kids didn't get to graduate this year peoples' savings are drying up....
