Its a back door attempt to regulate scary looking rifles by restricting ammunition since they failed in the direct assault post sandy hook. They've already banned 7n6 5.45 from import for the same reason drying up that cheap ammo source, this one is no different.
News flash, most police officers carrying type 3a or below body armor which is rated up to .44 magnum. Basically rifle cartridges can defeat it. The new ar/ak pistols that fire regular type ammunition is the loop hole thats being used here.
Whats really stupid is this ammo has been legal since 1986 and has become "armor piercing" over night.
Whats even more stupid and revealing to their actual purpose, is how little this ammo is used in crime..let alone the specific crimes they use as an excuse to ban it (being able to penetrate law enforcement armor)
Hell, ,rifles are used in a tiny percentage of crimes all together, and the ar-15 is used in a tiny tiny tiny percentage of crimes, and the m855 round? Even less, and beyond unnecessary.
