Okay, I'll be generous and just say hypothetically maybe he does know it's wrong to do it, but does he know what will happen to him if he DOES?

He Hit her and beat her but he didn't stand there and pummel her until she died, at least according to this report that quotes the grandfather

According to the Pocono Record, the boy punched Helen Novak, 90, of Tyler Hill, Pa., several times in the throat after first putting a cane on her neck.

Kurilla allegedly hooked the cane around the elderly woman's neck and pushed it into her throat for four to five seconds before punching her five times in the throat and five times in the stomach. All this, according to the Scranton Times, citing police.

The Record reports the boy's mother told investigators her son became angry at the woman for yelling, lost his temper and grabbed a cane and put it on Novak's throat. He then punched her several times, according to the Record.

The boy told his grandfather, who was caring for the woman, that Novak was bleeding from her mouth, the AP reports. The grandfather checked on the woman twice; the second time she was unresponsive.

According to the Record, an autopsy showed blunt force trauma to Novak's neck. The boy is charged with criminal homicide in the case.

I do not believe it matters if he can comprehend what "life in prison" means.

I think that it's fair that he's being tried as an adult at age ten I knew exactly what violence was and what happened if I hurt someone. I didn't have and experience with it, I still haven't hurt anyone physically because I know it will ultimately make my life worse and I knew that since before ten. This kid might not have known he was gonna kill the old woman but he sure as hell knew he was gonna hurt her. I don't think the parents should take punishment. It's not their fault, they didn't punch the old woman in the throat or crush her windpipe with her cane.

This is justified. Not death penalty but defiantly a mental hospital or jail time.

No.. not life in prison, but the ability to know and comprehend what will happen to HIM is my issue.

And at 10 years old, I call bs on it.

I believe he knows the punishment is "extended time in prison". I do not believe he can comprehend what that means other than essentially being in time out for a long time. I do not believe it matters.

That's where we differ then. And u know what, I respect your view. But I believe at 10 is a bit too young in my honest opinion. To each his own though. Not trying to push your view down, just expressing my take on it.

okay so he ended a 90 year old lady's life 2 days before it was going to end anyways. He'll get out of jail when he's 16. (guy who tries to stir up shit)
