well, apart from creating the Western university system (you didn't go to Han-academy or the academy of Timbuktu or Baghdad, did you?), pretty much defining many currents of Western life up until and during Rene Descartes (and after him). and the huge influence on moral philosophy/ethics
idk about you anglo-fellows, but we've got Theologians working as both (very often) psychologists and (sometimes) nurses, priests also do many of the rituals that are very important to people. (i couldn't have gotten drunk with my cousins wasn't it for the fact that one of them got married!!)
and contemplating on one of the major questions of all times
