My exact thoughts
Im only about 2 weeks in. My physio has me doing
*Supine hamstring stretch
*Prayer stretch
*Hip flexor stretch
*Trigger point on glutes with lacrosse ball
* Seated glute stretch
* Jeffeson Curl
Then I throw in some more lower back / hip butterfly with weight stuff
I don’t like not being good at things instantly so this is a struggle for me but I am seeing results
I sat it out for over two months of not doing heavy work / work at all really. Mostly calisthenic stuff and yesterday I worked up to some pretty easy singles of 525 DL, maybe liek RPE 6 on the first, RPE 7, RPE 7, RPE 8ish and called it there and did some real light stuff at 315 to practice the movement again.
Somehow, after a long period of doing light bench only, feet up, my bench is probably moving better than it did before doing some singles at 285lb.
Squat is fine doing sets of 5 at 315lb which is the worst hit lift of the three. Legs just feel like they don't have work capacity with something heavy on my back. I've been doing a lot of 10k's while recovering.
Maybe the lesson here is less is more sometimes. Maybe my body has just been screaming at me for the last year and I didn't notice or listen because no one wants to get old.
I might jump on the low frequency train here, not Mike Mentzer low frequency but something like deadlifting once every 9 days or so, squatting 1 time a week rather than 2 or 3. Bench 1 time a week rather than three.
