From what Ive seen around benchmarks, 2k @240hz max settings seems to still be a challenge even for the 4090. Throw in streaming on top of that I dont think its wasted.

3090ti/4080 is also an option since they are the same price(atm) but Im trying to get setup to grab a 4090 at msrp. My fear is it fitting inside the 5000x case(I really dont want to upgrade to the 7000x if I dont need to)

Why do you want to game on 2 monitors at the same time?

I think you are confused man

Well for starters, in reference to ‘240hz’ … that’s the refresh rate of a monitor. It has nothing to do with the fps the gpu can put out

You can have as many displays connected as it will allow, your non gaming monitors aren’t going to matter

I’m not sure what information you are looking at. But outside of cyberpunk and some other massive open world games, 4090 can absolutely push ridiculously high frame rates at 1440p. As an example, overwatch 2 is like 550 fps

Correct, I reference my monitor because that provides additional information such as “the build must be able to support 2k resolution, generate 240FPS, at ultra settings”. So yes it has nothing to do with the gpu ability, but it has everything to do with what I am trying to accomplish.

I also dont have multiple monitors again not sure where that has come from.

Anyways I got my answer thank you for your assistance!

I don’t know what type of games you are playing. I would rather play 165fps at 4K vs 300fps 2k. You aren’t going to be able to see the difference. From 60 to 144hz yes. But after that, no

A 3080ti will easily run 2x 1440p monitors at 144hz. 4090 is not only overkill but will likely end up melting / burning something in your pc. I wouldn't touch the upper end 40 series at all until they give them better connectors.

average 199 read it

you guys are ridiculous saying overkill its within his monitors range of 240 1440p

and if i was poster i'd go 3x same 1440p 240hz monitors and call it a day

will he notice after 160hz maybe but thats not the only reason to use high hz monitors if you are so computer savvy you would know there are other benefits of having high frames along with high hz

There are plenty of other benefits yeah, like higher CPU and GPU temps, more eye strain, and more money.

You guys realize he does not mention ONCE that he is looking for multiple monitors, right? And what other RTX 40 series is he suppose to purchase? They've only released 4080 and 4090 and the connector issue has long been addressed lmao

"According to NVIDIA, the manufacturers of graphics cards received only about 50 applications stating the melting of 12VHPWR connectors. Considering that about 125,000 GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards have already been sold, about 0.04% of owners of top graphics adapters faced problems." ~ End Users that had issues (a VERY small amount) were not fully seating the power connector, go figure.

This thread has become a meme

You guys got one thing right... /end thread
