Well if your alarm bells doesn't go off when 2months old toon without fg throws you an offer with "hahahahahahaha" in it, you will get ripped more now that "new guys" are here.

better get a mediator next time, pretty easy to call one

I record every trade with OBS, and type /whois on their character and /time. Never been scammed or scam attempted, but doing that makes me feel pretty confident that I'll be alright if I do.

I have to agree it’s a sucky situation but was definitely preventable and not necessarily the “forums” fault. Could they do more? Probably. But there are also tons of scams going on at all times and a lot of them I am sure don’t give a F.

I don’t know if I would quit though because of it. Still plenty of solid traders on here. I also got scammed early on when prices were higher and I was newer. It sucked but you get through it and learn from out. I now have 170k fg after LOTS of trades and have not been scammed since.

How do you ask? Easy… look at their fg, their post history, have you seen them around or know them? Are they trying to offer via PM but won’t post publicly? Are they an old acct with almost no posts? Are they refusing to use a mediator on an expensive trade? Etc. general awareness of these things and you can avoid almost all scams. And there is always a GUaRANtEED way to avoid a scam… use a mediator for any larger purchase.

Would hate to see a good JSPer leave because that means the ratio of bad ones increases
