i want to buy a new monitor for D2R, and just in general
you guys know alot more than i do about monitors and computers haha
i also dont want to spend a fortune! covids got my bank not as good as it once was lol

i bought this computer off marketplace a month ago for 500$ CANADIAN (so like 3$ US), have been super happy with it my old computer was running a gtx 660
i guess the guy got a promotion and just wanted to get rid of it because he works at an IT company and they paid for a build your own 5000$ limit computer so he went nuts, and didnt care about this one

anyways what sort of monitor should i look into!? i dont play much FPS type games mostly MMO/Pathofexile/DIABLO OFC/ league ect

144 hz 2k monitor

144+ hz 2k (1440p) vouch. g-sync.

ive had a couple models of the asus ones over the years. using one right now. very happy with it.

4k not worth it, and cant go back to 1080 after using 1440.



i was using a 1070 up until like a week or two ago and it still did well. generally high settings across most games.
it was the evga ftw edition but id imagine most 1070s perform similarly.

The games he plays can probably be played in 2k tbh, I have a 1060 and there isn't many games I can't run in 2k barring newer titles but it doesn't seem like he plays many of those
even if he can't run things in 2k, might as well buy one for future proofing

I have a 27" 2k Acer Predator for note and I've been happy with it

144 hz is useless if the pc cant reach 144 fps

Lower resolution = higher fps

buying something you'd want to replace again once you upgrade gpu/cpu is an unnecessary expense.

might as well get 144+ hz now and save yourself from doing it later...

But he bought the pc one month ago so probably he wont upgrade it in the near future

1440p 120+hz

Wqhd 27“ shouldn’t be too expensive.

Personally don’t have Sync (freesync Gsync, adaptive sync etc) so can’t say if worth it

prefer (M)VA over IPS
