gsync definitely worth it, havent used freesync.

skipped over multiple opportunities to buy amd cards while i waited to finally find a good deal on a geforce.

especially if you're running a higher resolution like 2k/4k. definitely good to take some of that load off the gpu.

with the current gpu pricing u might as well just buy the cheap 24 inch 1080 144hz mon and stick with ur 1070 until shortage of gpu finish, there no end in sight however. by the time this drought ends 4k med end gpu will be the norm. so dont bother with 2k monitor and just stick with 1080p 144 hz

1070 can run 2k just fine.

4K is IMO worth it for all of the other things you will also be doing with the monitor besides games. Something like this:

See if you can find a sale on any of these monitors. They are all some of the best 1440p 144hz+ fast reponsetime IPS monitors.

You could also go down into 24" 1080p 165hz like Acer Nitro XF243Y

I had a 1080 founders edition. It didn't not run 2k well.

ive been using asus 2k gsync monitors for years.

dont buy founders edition cards.
