They don't patch it because the classic team has been fired in November 2019 that's also the only reason you don't get banned despite being detected. All keybans you see are automated bans or chargeback bans.

What's causing the crash are missing table entries there was a similar server crash in the past. I would suggest you try to upgrade Horadic Staff(still a hand axe?) and play around with "bugged leg"


Between 1.09 and 1.10 Blizzard wrote code to detect illegal items(imports and ITH) it missed several items but in the end 1.08 items had several unique properties kept alive such as Zodbugged Fury Swords. If it's tied to <=1.08 items a dev prolly deleted that 1.08 code.

Hel+TP scoll a Zod Bugged Fury Sword and see if it also crashes the server or if the Zod bug suddenly disappeared. If it doesn't upgrade 1.06 rares to reroll.

Upgrade the some imports that survived such as steelclash gloves. I am not sure but there were some imported boots on US East 1.08 Valkyre Wing on Ring or Chainboots?

The question is how many items survived when Blizzard started deleting characters after 10/90 days.

This ol' game has such a pull on a number of gamers.
It's exciting to read about old and new exploits. I would prefer that there was a way to patch all exploits and to expunge imported and hacked items.
Again, I try not to take it too seriously. Whatever happens will happen.
It was a revolutionary game when D1 and D2 were released. I love remembering all the fun times.

One gets checking versions. Another gets "you have been disconnected from bnet" right after checking versions finishes. Been playing a long time. Never seen this.
