because otherwise it could be abused by stalkers or other weirdos

i think this would be good because when someone posted in your topic and went offline right after...
now you are online but the other user is not, and you get a notification once they are online again,
you could directly contact them and do your trade.

you know, we dont always check when other users are online while we are online. sometimes we are both online but don't realize it.

add some limit to this notification so it cannot be done with lots of users at once. and please if you
like this suggestion make it available to all users.. not only to those who pay for it every month or who got a star next to their name!

I don't really see the use for this, just send someone a PM and if they have the time they will reach out and let you know about it.

To simply put it if a user wishes to notify others they are online they can do that. This can be with friends lists, in games, on other msging networks, and more.

Forcing someone to communicate with people who wish to get notified when they are online does not seem like an adequate way to enjoy the site as a user will be subject to a variety of anything.

If someone logs on and wishes to trade during a time someone else is on or not, then utilizing a trade topic is the fastest and correct way to do this. It also provides the Community and more a rather large amount of information and ability to easily mitigate scams and other violations of our site rules.

The only benefit I can really see out of this is absolutely having to get information to someone, and in that case a pm at anytime makes much more sense. ( Trade wise )
