I was mainly responding to the one about people who "wouldn't last two weeks on the job". The sole fact that a person wouldn't last two weeks on the job isn't enough to conclude that they shouldn't decide how it should be done. Having oversight from from third parties (people in positions unrelated to police) is important.

But to the essence of your post: If people on the internet are interested in discussing a topic, and they do so in a logical fashion, then their discussions can result in marginal increases in their understanding of the issues. Personally, that's my motivation for seeking discussions on the internet. I don't know any one IRL who wants to talk about the Chauvin trial for 3 hours. So I go to various websites to help me work my way through the trial.

The police are public servants.. The absolutely are judged reviewed and even criticized by civilians.
They pay their god damn salary.
Someday you won't be a full fledged boot licker.

The oversight I talk about is lawyers, judges and politicians. That's the system we have had in place for awhile.
