Easy there was a case recently where I had to find a topic from a specific date but the search filter wouldn't show me the topic from the time period I needed because they either had to many posts before that topic or after in that forum. If I searched by a specific date then I could of found it as I knew the date the topic was made.

Again I am not sure why you spent fg on this in the s/a forums. That fg could of paid off a scam. I also do not understand why you want to blame the search feature for something you could not find.

I still do not understand how you managed to find what you where looking for. I keep saying find because it is so different than Search.

I also have trouble with the idea of someone using a Paid Search on someone for 1 particular topic. With so many results in the Search to begin with finding 1 seems like it would still take time. Trying to find something particular might be faster another way.

In my opinion this is a misleading site suggestion and I think you would have a better chance at bringing something to the table for everyone if you consider a Find Feature suggestion separated from the idea of Search feature.

Try searching the users name in that forum ( as it shows topics ) instead of paying 5 fg and looking for all posts.

you cant search for posts beyond page 200 and you cannot search posts 2-3 years old in most forums due to archives.

Are we really covering posts and topics here 2-3 years old with your site suggestion?

You still did not answer how you ended up finding that post. It was an easy example for you to state but now shooting blanks. I'm just trying to understand how and why this site suggestion is useful and good for our site, and I'm opened up to discuss it. I think you would be too as you made this suggestion.

Seems like a rare use case. Very rare use. Also seems like it could cause people to cause more problems on our site in general.

P.s. Some trading forums do not have 200 pages.

We never found it, and that's why this suggestion was created. I even used different types of google search options to try and find it.

I, personally, would use the feature very frequently. I can name 10 people that would also use a better, more thorough search feature on a routine basis as well. This would be one of the best improvements to the site that I can possibly think of and it would get utilized often by many people.
