I personally like 144Hz because it looks a bit more smoother than 60Hz. Although, I won't lie, sometimes I can't feel the difference.
Putting aside my preferences, the technical answer/response is which type of games are you playing? If you're playing first person shooter games, then you do want 240Hz. If you're playing role playing games, then you're fine with 144Hz.

1440/144 is a good format with current gen hardware especially if you are utilizing vrr
Most esport style games will get above 144 fps in 1080p but it can be negligible as to how it feels in real world performance
I favour the cleaner clearer resolution as you can still achieve good performance, and have a better view of the game you’re playing
I was using a 1060 on my wife’s set up while looking for an upgrade and I was quite surprised at how well the 1060 handled 1440p, gsync helped a lot but games were very playable and many even felt good/smooth, obviously using low settings, but low settings 1440p still looks better than high settings on 1080p
I play overwatch fortnite diablo 2 destiny 2 call of duty so sacrifce little bit of performance and go with 1440/144 or should will a 240hz/1080 graphics will be ruined that bad? Cause for example if i wanted to play final fantasy 10 or 8 remastered will it look really worse in 1080 than 1440P? cause i rather lose some fps or game power in shooting for good looks or i wont notice the difference?
