its an all too common fallacy in pard and elsewhere. mistaking the advice for the individual as applicable to the masses.
if i ask you to cook me your best meal you'll make twice baked potatoes and a fine steak. if i ask you to cook your best meal for 100 people they'll get burgers and fries.
the same is true for the success of the down trodden. what is good advice, (i.e. get a tech degree, dont spend on clothes, etc) isn't necessarily going to work for the masses. its not as if a crowd of khaki wearing uncle toms showing up for job interviews with 2 year tech degrees in IT management will all get employed. in fact most wont.
if we all bought bitcoin and held it in 2012 it never would have gotten to where it is. what's good for the goose is indeed not good for the gander.
