Like as far as their companies go, Bruce is the biggest competitor of Lex, it would be perfectly reasonable to assume Lex is lying to get rid of the head of Wayne Enterprises. He should have had a picture or something, maybe instead of saying Bruce Wayne he throws a file of evidence on the table and the audience sees Bruce's picture. Literally anything other than "yeah my biggest competitor is totally the guy you have a death grudge against" "oh cool, thanks bro, I totally believe you, not sus at all."

I read they were tossing around the idea of Bruce and her having a brief fling when they were both vulnerable and mourning Clark.

Then the kid would eventually be raised by Clark and Lois when Bruce sacrifices himself to save Lois in an alternate time-line.
