Hots actually could have been a decent game. The simplicity didn't make it a bad game I used it to teach mobas to non moba players. It's like moba with training wheels. My issue with hots was shitty balance and I hate healers as a standard required part of the meta. Mostly the game was just neglected. If they shifted the meta a bunch every 9 or so months it'd have had more longevity. Some of the heroes basically haven't ever been changed

You're basically saying despite them saying they're willing to make changes there's no scenario where they make changes. That seems horribly ignorant to me. Do you understand how incredibly outnumbered d2 pvp purists are? The casuals playing d2 in single player want changes they don't give a shit about pvp and they heavily outnumber d2 pvpers. The d3 players want changes they don't like d2 or they'd be d2 players not d3 players. Brand new players don't necessarily want changes but they definitely don't want lag and desync it's 2021 you can't be desyncing just randomly playing the game that's unacceptable. As far as I'm concerned desync has literally 0 chance of making it into d2r because it ruins the casual experience and casuals make up over 90% of the playerbase. I mean fuck as a hardcore players I hate when my character desyncs when I'm just playing the game it's awful and clunky. Read my words and see them as truth. I am the prophet

I just get the impression that they're looking for an overwhelming request for certain changes before they would consider. For example, if getting an Anni is impossible because they fix duping (hopefully). Then everyone is going say.. "change how to spawn dclone"

If there is a portion of the community who want certain quirks, like you described, I think they leave then unchanged. The only thing I'm 50/50 on is desync. My initial comment was more about Enigma than anything else.

This is just my feeling based off of the interviews I've seen.
