They wouldn't really be able to hire in America anymore, and would lose out on a lot of talent and silicon valley as talent pools.
More importantly, who would stop the president of Kazakhstan from waltzing into their facility with his military and seizing all their servers and assets?
When it comes to safety and also the availability of talent, they could move to some place in Europe though. But then they'd have to deal with the EU and its pesky privacy laws, potentially higher corporate tax rates, etc. pp.
At the end of the day, the combination of an established infrastructure, talent pool and tech culture in Silicon Valley, the protection from the strongest military in the world, and having legal certainty in a very corporate-friendly country is what the U.S. are offering. Taken together, there's just no other place which can beat this package. This post was edited by Black XistenZ on Oct 22 2020 12:05am
