The really sad part about all this is that now with the pandemic and the 2020 elections, and the idiotic idea of mail in votes... things are really getting testy.

At it's prime, the USPS could never handle the whole country attempting mail in voting. Hell, at their best they had trouble with Christmas cards and packages at Christmas. Not only is mail in voting an open door for voter fraud, it will also take forever, because we don't, and never had, a mail system that could possibly handle something like this.

My point here is, that finding accurate information about the USPS and it's problems, is NOW buried under useless info about the pandemic and the 2020 election.
We've NEVER had a system that could handle something like mail in voting, and now with the USPS suffering money woes, it's gonna be a disaster.

Mail in votes all go to the same places, completely different to christmas cards, not sure how this relates to corporations giving shares to the government.

What is it? You afraid YOUR mail in vote for the US elections won't be counted?

My premise is NOT wrong. And I'm not gonna take the time to explain it to you. A little thinking on your part will provide the explanations.

The USA does not have a system for nation wide mail in voting. Simple as that.

then open up all polling locations for 3-4 weeks

You collect the mail, you deliver it to a location, mail in voting would be going to a few select locations, this would be much easier than christmas.

The post office delivers EVERYTHING to a select few locations. Unlike Christmas cards and packages which then go to the homes, the mail in votes, THEN have to go on to further select locations.

It never ceases to amaze me that people from outside the US, feel they understand the US systems, better than those who have lived in this country their entire lives. ^^
