Thoughts?

I agree with him for once. No way they have good enough safety protocols in place (See MLB. Season should be scrapped)

Not only that but all the players opting out. Deadline is 4pm today but I dont think that will/should stop them from sitting out.

NFL has the advantage of seeing how not to handle it and have already begun measures that should be much more effective than anything any other league has tried (tracking chips). It's ultimately up to the players, but NFL has a better shot than the MLB and NBA to finish a season imo

Let's not forget how much easier traveling is as the games are one and done. Trips to Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota and Indianapolis take under an hour or just over. Can fly the day of to limit exposure.

They should do what the NHL has done and play all the games in one city and put the players up in semi permanent lodging with very little outside contact.

NHL players are men and NFL players are temperamental divas constantly menstruating. Would never happen.

Fair points but I fully expect the NFL to still fuck things up. Players are even coming out saying how unsafe it is and precautions arent enough.

Wouldn't mind a condensed season to see them all stay in their areas. We can write off the Bucs and Dolphins anyways. Nobody should be going in or out of Florida, at all

I know you don't pay attention to college ball at all, but two large conferences, B1G and Pac12 already have player unity groups demanding the NCAA step up the safety protocols for student athletes. College ball is seriously in question and I'm not entirely confident the NFL can pull it off, either tbh. They have the additional time and resources, but they also have the largest rosters in professional sports so the sheer numbers are a concern in addition to football being a contact sport.

if the UFC can afford fight island
the NFL can surely just buy a huge chunk of land somewhere and fence it off

to put on a fight card you need about 12 fighters. figure 3 coaches per fighter plus camera crew and doctors. maybe 50-70 ppl total.

the nfl currently has 32 teams and each team will have over 50 active players, and dozens of coaches and doctors. you are comparing quarantining 70 people to nearly 3,000 people. not only would it never work out logistically, you simply wouldnt be able to lockdown multi millionaires like that (look at the nba having leaks in their bubble hours into it).

currently the nfl brings in about half a billion dollars per game week. they simply wont stop unless they need to.

Yeah I agree. We mishandled the pandemic and deserve the misery.
