Jota is 6 years younger, quicker and scored 16 goals mostly from out wide. Good backup and more longevity than Jiminez.

Feel free to sign him for £50m though, it would be a classic yanited signing
I'd take £50m Jimenez in late 20s over £50m waste of shirt like Keita any day.

How'd he be classic United signing anyway, unless you mean proven Prem striker in his prime moving to United like Berbatov or Van Persie.

Didn't you pay £50m+ for Fred, who is a significantly inferior player to Keita?

I meant in terms of aging and overpriced

Fred might've had a ropey start but he's been our best midfielder this season before Fernandes' arrival, Keita isn't fit to lace his shoes.

Aging and overpriced, can't really think of anyone fitting the bill, Falcao's only a loan, Sanchez a direct swap ^_^

Anyone know what Thiago's wages were at Bayern, guessing £200k ish a week, do you reckon he's taken a pay cut to come here or on similar money?

hard to imagine tbh, pretty sure he had plenty of options. i mean it's not like he has been just a bench player last season, even though kimmich and goretzka clearly became the best central midfield duo for bayern towards the end of the season.

Liverpool have completed a £45 million deal for forward Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers, reports James Pearce.

The 23-year-old Portugal international has signed a five-year contract. An initial fee of £41 million will rise to £45 million depending on appearances and team success in the Premier League and Champions League.

Dutch teenager Ki-Jana Hoever is going in the opposite direction in a £13.5 million deal — £9 million guaranteed and £4.5 million in add-ons. Liverpool have also negotiated a 15 per cent sell-on clause.

The first thing I thought here was, why THE FUCK would we forego signing Werner for £47m because of money being tight but spend £45m on Jota. And then...

Key to getting the deal done was Wolves’ willingness to be flexible on payment terms. They have accepted less than 10% of the guaranteed figure in the next 12 months. Most of that offset by initial payment from Wolves for Hoever

Fair enough. Good addition to the squad.

Now get rid of Grujic and Wilson and bring in a CB and we're all set.

Initially it seems high, but actually it's fair.

Age: 23
Position: LW
19/20:
48 apps, 16 goals, 6 assists
18/19:
37 apps, 10 goals, 7 assists
17/18:
46 apps, 18 goals, 6 assists (Wolves were in the championship)

Premier league proven and Europa league experience with 6 goals in 6 UEL apps in 19/20.

The wages will be pretty low and we're getting him on a 5 year deal too.

In addition, we're only paying 10% of the fee this year so discounting the future cash flows over a few years you're looking at an outlay of about £40m including add ons in today's terms.

Sure, I would have preferred Werner, but RB most likely didn't let us phase the payments over the contract like we're doing in this deal and in the Thiago deal.

I don't know, to me it just shows Wolves were more than happy to let him go and no wonder, genuinely never seen him have a good game

In other news, Higuain signs for Inter Miami - even D-Beck is showing up Woodward in the transfer market

As past it as Higuain might be now I'd probably still would've taken him as back up to Martial, especially on free transfer.

Could say the same for Doherty or any player any club sells. There is no logic to what you're saying.
