I feel like Rip Van Winkle. Since when did twitter become a reliable fact checker? This is the same twitter that takes down people's posts if they don't agree with them.
The day anyone starts trusting Twitter or FB to be UNbiased, is the time to... pack it in and turn in your thinking cap.

/e And anyone with two brain cells to rub together, already knows that Trump is RIGHT about this. A 100% mail in ballot system WILL be abused. :/

Amazon/Facebook/Google/Apple/Disney will just continue to buy up everything , until there's a point where anti-trust and the spirit of anti-monopoly just doesn't exist and you can argue to a certain extent , monopolization is basically legal now.

Talks about others calling names, then indicates that all republicans are Nascar-watching trailer trash. That's amazing!

It's no shocker at all. When the tides of Twitter's fortune shifts, so do their policies. If it weren't for Trump constantly calling out the CPC for trying to foist off blame on America for this virus, Twitter would probably be actively banning anyone who refers to it as the "China Virus".

When 3M wasn't allowed to send the masks that were produced using US resources and US wealth in facilities that were US based in China to the US from China, and were instead informed by the CPC that "these products were made in China, therefore they belong to the Chinese" it should have been a huge warning. Instead, every corporation that has any business in China whatsoever simply sees a billion plus potential customers, slave labor level employees, and zero environmental regulations. There's a reason social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter will shill for the CPC, then claim predictions by the US president are "fact check: false" when they're simply predictions.

I believe that a private company should be allowed to regulate business as they see fit. if Trump's tens of millions of followers dont like it, uninstall the platform and send a message. Same goes for the NFL, no one stopped watching no matter what side u were on. maybe 1% of people upset left or right actually stopped watching the NFL. hit them where it hurts, not the report button but the wallet.

It's a communications platform that is no different than a phone or internet connection. At least, that's how it's being legally treated. If it's going to be treated as a "platform" (aka utility) as opposed to a "publisher" then they have no business regulating speech whatsoever. They're in violation of the speech rights of every American. If they are instead a publisher, then they should be regulated as one.

"Self Regulation" by a multi-billion dollar telecommunications corporation is a fucking joke, and under normal circumstances, you'd be the first to call them on it.

The problem where social media platforms come in is that they provide no real content. Everything on the platform exists there because somebody else put it there. Remove all the content from users, developers, etc. and it's just blank. There's nothing there. It's the interaction of the users that makes Twitter what it is. Not Twitter itself. Twitter has chosen to class itself as a platform for the communication and entertainment of those users. If it is a simple communications platform and thus immune from publishing regulation, then to have them act as a publisher in this "self-regulating" fashion is a very, very bad thing.

It gets even worse when you consider more news is shared faster via twitter, facebook, and youtube than any news-specific website that exists. None of the news "originates" there. It's users who're placing it there. When twitter can then selectively remove or shadowban anything they don't like, they're able to effectively control the news flow.

Do we need to continue, or do you start to understand?

The GHOT fact check...

1. Let's see...it's the Dems with all the illegal aliens in sanctuary cities.
2. It's the Dems who have been trying ANYthing they could think of, for four years, to unseat Trump.
3. It's the Dems who want no ID, mail in ballots for the 2020 elections.

So... 1+2+3 = The Dems want to CHEAT, in the 2020 elections. <---- NOT rocket science.

It seems that Trump went on a rant regarding mail-in ballots and Twitter flagged his tweet as "misleading."
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1265255835124539392

In response, Trump said that Twitter is "stifling free speech:" https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1265427538140188676

Where do you guys stand on this? Should politicians be immune to fact checks on social media? Should social media even be in the business of fact checking? Is Trump's speech being stifled?

Personally, I think a lot of this could be avoided if politicians didn't spew a bunch of bullshit but that might be difficult for a lot of them.

Twitter is run by lefties. They are full of horse shit.

i want twitter to be a wild west that spirals into such a shithole of censorship that users realize its not a worthwhile platform to use. people see fact checking as the slippery slope, yet call for govt regulation which is a far more steep grade. its bringing an m60 to a knife fight.

i hope in the next few years that it gets so bad there's a mass exodus, Jack loses billions, communities of smaller platforms arise, etc. or better yet a model like reddit, where its all under one roof but pockets of insulated communities. places for leftist shit posting, right shit posting, and middle grounds for battle of ideas. run by unpaid moderators who are subject to criticism from their own community and pockets are allowed to rise, stagnate, or die as the users choose through their free will of expressing ideas.

Twitter is a blight on the human race, u dont cure blight by plucking affected plants, you burn the forrest down.
