Department of Safety Commissioner John Harrington said they are contact-tracing the arrested and added that an investigation is underway about white nationalist groups posting online to encourage their members to use the protests as a cover to create chaos.

He said some of the 40 arrests made in the Twin Cities Friday night were of people linked to white supremacist groups and organized crime.

“The people that are doing this are not Minneapolis residents,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said. “They are coming largely from outside the city outside the region to prey on everything we have built.”

At least one fedex truck got looted in Minneapolis, they were just stealing the packages out of the back and dumping them on the highway. I also have a suspicion that the large number of reported carjackings and strong arm robberies in minneapolis last night were looter on looter violence. When all the stores were being looted and the valuables stripped, I'm guessing they looted the other looters at gunpoint.

covid-19 and social distancing no longer important until these riots and protests lead to ultra-spikes in areas that already had higher risks with exposure (cities with large populations). look forward to a full summer lockdown when all of these 'protesters' that are just 'redistributing the goods the rich have' spread their nasty germs all over each other leading to a rise in covid-19 rates (which will all of a sudden become important again in oh...lets say a week or two)

It's probably a combination of white supremacist agitators infiltrating the movements to create chaos and damage and legit white antifa members who don't understand white privilege and are just taking advantage of this moment to live out their protracted fantasies of sticking it to The Man™.

Both are really shitty.

Update: Mayor has said that he was fed bad information, and that not all those arrested were from out of the area. Still, a significant portion/majority are.
