Mate, I have the recovery key. Problem is not missing the key. Problem is, Bitlocker won't allow me to use the key for decrypting these files. It does not have that option anywhere, just bunch of errors when I try to do anything with the files. I have my back-up key safely stored but the HDD isn't encrypted by Bitlocker, hence can't be worked through app. Only some of the files from my old laptop are and Bitlocker does not have feature to encrypt/decrypt specific files - only disk drives as a whole.

Damn, who knew that encryption software was designed to be pain in the ass.

My job rules out that sort of thing. I want to continue working on what I am doing.
