The latest just now from my Jamal Adams source: "The Cowboys are seriously in play now that they confirmed the Jets want 1st and 3rd round picks for Adams."
'Boys $5.6M under cap and need to get long-term deal done with Dak to lower his $31.4M franchise number to sign Adams.

Yeah, I'm not seeing how they sign Adams long-term with all of the money they've already invested elsewhere + whatever they have to invest in Dak. They'd have to start cutting or trading guys on the OL like Zack Martin and Tyrone Smith to make room (for next year).

This is assuming we're talking about a long-term deal for Adams

You realize Adams has 2 years left on his rookie deal right? They just backload the extension and keep his cap number low on the next 2 years while giving him the guaranteed money

Right, but the issue is he wants a long-term deal. Presumably he'll sit out if he doesn't get it.

Yes i'm sure if tthe cowboys trade for him that will already be in place which is a slap in the face to Dak but if they pull the trigger and hand over a 1st and 3rd a contract will bbe involved you'd have to imagine
