You realize Adams has 2 years left on his rookie deal right? They just backload the extension and keep his cap number low on the next 2 years while giving him the guaranteed money

Sources out of Adams frustration is he wants to get paid now, don't think that will end up working out for a backloaded contract. Also Dak's new deal will end up being backloaded to. As Terps said if it were to work out you'd have to start dropping your oline presumably both the listed players terps said. Madden is fun but this trade just doesn't make much sense to me. You need your first round pick for salary reasons much more. If you go for this trade your window drastically decreases because you will need to start dropping players left and right in a couple years much like the vikings just had to do when we lost all of our starting CBs this season

Would be the smart choice. Guy is mediocre as fuck, but I'd rather have Dak than the glass door called Wentz.

They could theoretically backload Adams' contract enough to have like a 1 or 2 year window. And Adams could get his money now with a signing bonus. But it just seems like such an awful move long-term that I can't understand why they would do it. You'd have everyone's cap hits go through the roof in year 3, and then you'd basically become the Rams.

Mediocrity, no Superb Owls, and a lot of money wasted. You're right, fuck Philly and the miscreants that live near that god awful fucking state.

When has JJ made good fiscal decisions? He's quite famous for overpaying players; this seems like another excellent opportunity for him to continue making the same decisions he's made his whole time as an owner.

Another thing to consider is that salary caps in the future might actually go down, since the league is about to take a big revenue hit. You can't even bank on future cap space as reliably anymore.

that Baltimore has also been in discussion for Jamal Adams.

I don't really get this either. Earl Thomas and Chuck Clark are a great duo at safety, and we're going to have a ton of guys to re-sign in a few years.
