I think this re-draft should be called the 2020 draft instead, makes far more sense than the traditional re-draft taking players after x amount of years based on their achievements. Clearly this isn't the later haha

You don't pick a player regardless of age though, that's the whole point of this exercise. Eichel is in his prime and has many good years left, while Ovechkin, Marchand, etc. are already in the 30s and who knows for how long they can maintain their level of play. Not even sure Marchand is better than Eichel today anyway. Eichel has to do it pretty much all by himself on that shitty Sabres team.

You almost never see franchise players traded at the age of ~23 and there's a reason for it.. Meanwhile Panarin was traded for fucking Brandon Saad no longer than 4 years ago 😂

Imagine letting big buff go for nothing. Trading panarin for saad when saad had a down season and a big ass contract. Keeping crawford and trading lehner for 2nd round pick. Taking back andrew shaw when he was heavily injured for the price montreal paid back then. Trading a promissing young defensemen for a nobody.

Im still amazed that bowman still got a job. Chicago had a dynasty and he destroyed it by his shitty trades. Remove the panarin deal and im sure chicago would have at least one more cup
