They both have access to incredible health care, so their expected mortality rate would probably be lower than the 8% case fatality figure for their age range (70-79) cited by the recent JAMA study, but agreed. It is indeed a legit risk for both of them given how many people they will interact with and how much they will be traveling over the new few months.
It's kind of morbidly funny in a way that Bernie's best chance at the nomination could be Biden dying from Coranavirus (or any other medical problem) rather than winning outright. Sanders was the percieved frontrunner just two weeks ago. Fivethirtyeight now gives Biden a greater than 99% chance of winning. In Vegas, Biden is a 1/10 favorite and Bernie now has 28/1 odds. It's not swinging back to Sanders.
