I don't see how that is a criticism. Is the 2019 Aladdin movie also "not good" by the same logic?

You honestly can't tell the difference between a remake and a *completely new* series copying something? I know we've disagreed about stuff in the past before, but this has got to be the worst line of reasoning I've ever seen from you. Come on man, you're better than this.

I have to disagree about solo. You can't say an entire movie was ruined because of the casting of a secondary character that has very little actual screen time. There are so many fucking issues with that movie, recasting one role wouldn't change anything that actually matters. Which is mostly the complete trash that apparently passes for a script these days.

Agree to disagree I guess. It had enough enjoyable parts in it and would have been closer to a 6/10, maybe 6.5/10 if not for her. Having one atrociously bad actress play a major role in both the beginning and climax of the film, made it worse than it could have been. It's still your typical Disney crap, but it could have at least been better than the shit we've gotten without her.

It's not a 'completely new' series, it's a sequel.

Was Karate Kid 2 bad just because it copied the formula from its predecessor? What about Rocky 2, 3 and 4?

The success of remakes/sequels are proof that something being a "carbon copy ripoff" doesn't preclude it from being good.

This argument is as asinine as the last and I'm not sure if you're being purposefully dense, or just fucking around for shits and giggles.

Idk, literally the only part of the movie I remember enjoying was the train heist. Everything else made me want to shoot myself. Explaining why his last name is solo instead of it just being what it is, trying to fix the parsec nonsense (in such a stupid way) instead of just ignoring it. All the tricked you I'm back stabbing you, tricked you I'm not, tricked you I actually am. Everything was the worst.

Edit: also wasn't the robot uprising shit in that movie? And the terribly overly acted young Lando.
