i've looked into the "War Powers Resolution". i confirm my earlier stance that Matt Gaetz is voting based on what is right and other Republicans should follow.

REP. MATT GAETZ, R-FLA.: I spoke to the president today, after one of America's brave patriots was laid down at Arlington, one of my constituents who passed away just days before Christmas in Afghanistan.
And the President told me he is more anti-war than I am, and I love the President for that, Tucker. The thing is, I think you've got a few of the advisers of the President who are trying to slow walk the administration into war.
When the President relies on his instincts, and we have the Trump Doctrine, we kill the terrorists and we come home. And I think this War Powers Resolution was worthy of support because it did not criticize the President. It did not say he was wrong in killing Soleimani.
But it did say that if any President wants to drag our nation into another forever Middle East war, that they require the approval of the United States Congress. That's something I deeply believe, and I think it's something that President deeply believes.
Gaetz and Lee are the only ones to stand up against the pressure of a political game.
unfortunately it's only an issue with the Dems right now because it's Trump and they spun a narrative trying to make him look bad.
Pelosi specifically is just using anti-Trump narration for all of this.

"Last week, the Trump administration conducted a provocative and disproportionate military airstrike targeting high-level Iranian military officials," Pelosi said in a letter to colleagues Sunday. "This action endangered our servicemembers, diplomats and others by risking a serious escalation of tensions with Iran."
"As members of Congress, our first responsibility is to keep the American people safe,"she continued. "For this reason, we are concerned that the administration took this action without the consultation of Congress and without respect for Congress’s war powers granted to it by the Constitution."
She said the House resolution is similar to one introduced in the Senate by Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va.

Soon after the United States delivered a major blow to Iran’s terror infrastructure Friday by ridding the world of Qassem Soleimani, top general of the country’s brutal Quds Force, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her intention to limit President Donald Trump’s ability to take further military action against Tehran.
Even after several Democrats indicated they wanted to be more deliberative with any such effort following Iran’s retaliatory strikes on U.S. service members in Iraq on Tuesday, she persisted in holding a vote on a war powers resolution Thursday. “The administration took this action without the consultation of Congress and without respect for Congress’ war powers granted to it by the Constitution,” Pelosi said of the Soleimani strike in explaining the purpose of the measure.
even worse, unlike Lee and Gaetz, Pelosi is inconsistent with voting.

Nancy Pelosi is a hypocrite. She’s also right.
In 2011, Pelosi had the opportunity to join Republicans in reasserting Congress’s war powers after President Barack Obama launched an unauthorized, prolonged military intervention into Libya, which, it's worth noting, was a complete disaster and has left Libya a failed state. Instead, she bowed to the executive branch, saying, “I'm satisfied that the president has the authority he needs to go ahead.” The California Democrat tossed aside Congress’s constitutionally mandated war powers when her party was in power, and now she has buyer’s remorse.

The Somalia campaign is a blueprint for warfare that President Obama has embraced and will pass along to his successor. It is a model the United States now employs across the Middle East and North Africa — from Syria to Libya — despite the president’s stated aversion to American “boots on the ground” in the world’s war zones. This year alone, the United States has carried out airstrikes in seven countries and conducted Special Operations missions in many more.
you can claim the hypocrisy on all the Republicans that voiced Obama needing congressional powers, if they don't at least attempt to make resolutions to pass this bi-partisanly.
