I don't think Trump is the cause of the divisiveness. He certainly isn't helping and probably makes it worse, but you can't really blame him for the state of affairs in this country. Frankly, we're sort of self-gerrymandered which causes us to see the other side as caricatures.

Yeah the divisiveness went through the roof when old conservatives couldnt handle a black guy in the highest office. I remember John McCain shutting down people calling Obama a socialist and traitor to America. He was a better man than his party.
