if its the same as what I have yes,

https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/10104556.jpg

the newer one has a front pass through

https://jdslabs.com/media/product/objective2-odac-rev-b/images/2019-02-10.03-13-47.o2-black-front-head-on.jpg

just might need an adapter

the first one you posted looks like the massdrop connections, which are 2 RCA connections right?
my cable is 1 aux to the tower, then splits into 2 RCA for 1 RCA for each speaker. So to use that I would need RCA split for each speaker, then RCA to the DAC/amp?

I'd be getting the massdrop o2 sdac because of the price at $150

so rca to rca or 3.5 to rca based on which model of the o2 dac/amp.
there's no splitting it.

sdac/o2
look it here

On the back of the device, you'll see a single set of RCA jacks labeled with symbols for both input and output. When you're using the USB input, the RCA jacks act as an output from the SDAC. If you disconnect the USB, you can connect analog input from your favorite DAC straight to the O2.

ok yea my bad, its 3.5 to rca is what I have now. But I'll probably need rca to rca then okay thanks.
so that RCA connection on the o2 SDAC should not amp my speakers at all right? just a simple passthrough i think?

Im a bit confused lol... so are you saying the RCA jacks are amp/dac as well? not a passthrough for my speakers?

sdac will work on its own as long as you are using usb source

read above

i think the only amplified portion is the aux connection on the sdac right? then the RCA on the back are just a passthrough for my speakers that won't be amplified

see my edit

if you using usb the rcas become output for your speakers

if you arent using usb the rcas become input so you can use another source, pretty much becomes headphone amp only

ok thanks. I think i understand?
So no matter what the amp will not be sending anything through the rca.
The rca works as a passthrough for my speakers when the DAC is plugged in with the usb. But when the DAC usb in unplugged then i can use those rca to connect a different external DAC?

But what if i disconnect the usb DAC, will i still be able to use the passthrough for my speakers?
