To begin with, I'm fully sure this strategy works fine at any time because I recently repeat it multiple times. Once you launch any game in hell, keep in mind that the first game created is always the most painful because it's mostly where you work hard on your loot so you set your drop rate.



So, once the first game has been created, the game is always slower than any next game. The top strategy to launch your BO/BC until you get the speed needed for the game should be to pay attention about the Nova made by your BO/BC so the cycle (for the entire nova feature) can be completed.
