Simmons with 4 points and 0 assists in the 2nd half. He had an open lane for uncontested lay-ups/dunks all 1st half, the Pacers were truly pathetic and the Sixers fans were losing their minds lol. They organised themselves in the 2nd, defended the paint and lo and behold, Ben looked like his usual trash self.

4 pts improvement over the dallas game

The Sixers shot 6-33 from 3pt range today.

Between this and the mavs game, they must be hovering around like 20% on WIDE open 3's.

That isn't on Brett Brown or Ben Simmons.

Elton Brand needs to go first. Overpaying for that fucking scrub Tobias Harris, most unclutch player in the league and useless fuck Al Horford. Shit ass fucking shooter Mike Scott and fucking scrubs on the bench.

Simmons plays with at least 3 below average shooters at all times. Most star players in the league doesn't have to deal with that shit except we have the worst fucking roster construction possible.

24 pts on 10-17 shooting 14rebs with 16 potential assists resulting in 3 actual assists (because of said garbage ass 3pt shooters) while playing elite defense and somehow this loss is his fault

lol

https://stats.nba.com/teams/shots-closest-defender-10/?Season=2019-20&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&CloseDefDistRange=6%2B%20Feet%20-%20Wide%20Open&PerMode=Totals&OpponentTeamID=1610612742&TeamID=1610612755

24% on wide open 3's against the mavs and i think they had 27 wide open attempts yesterday.

won't have today's numbers until tomorrow but mother of god they just shot 18.2% from 3pt range today

10 of 17 shooting? They were all dunks/lay-ups that, on almost all occasions, were wide open lanes because the Pacers were all over the place in the first half. They fixed that in the 2nd half and he didn't do shit.

Ben has no IQ, he passes off to bad shooters because the other team force him to, knowing he cannot create anything for himself. The spacing is screwed because the rest of the team are forced to just standing around the 3 point line. The offence is pathetically static with the ball in Simmons' hands. The guy can do 2 things, guard on-ball and run transitions. When teams don't have rim protectors and aren't organised in the paint, he looks like prime LeBron out there.

Embiid is pretty much the only player that should not be up for trade.

Ok?

So he shouldn't take good shots that are dunks/lay-ups because they pacers aren't defending them and because they aren't jumpshots? I'm so fucking confused. 10-17 on 60%+ TS is good, no matter how you look at it.

They fixed it in the 2nd half, they gave him the Giannis treatments, teams did force him into it. They dared him the shooters to beat them instead of him and they were all dogshit tonight, it's that simple.

Them all standing around 3pt line literally means nothing, they had WIDE OPEN 3pt looks, they missed.

They didn't give him 'Giannis' treatment, lmao. They simply stopped leaving the lane wide open. In the 1st half they were running around like headless chickens, Jared Dudley would have got those 20 points that Simmons got, just like last year when the Nets played the Lakers and they had no paint protection or people in the lane. An extremely bad defence made him look good for 20 minutes. His biggest strength is running through the paint, unopposed, jumping up, letting out a shout and dunking the ball through the hoop. Legendary stuff.

You Simmons apologists are always such a great source of entertainment lol. When Simmons plays against teams with good on-ball defenders, and Ben can't beat his man or make a shot for himself, the Sixers will be sent home from the playoffs, again.

No. That's the wrong basketball play. They dared him the shooters to beat them instead of him and they were all dogshit tonight, it's that simple.

You remind me of the people that used to criticize Lebron for passing to wide open teammates at the end of games because he was too scared to do it himself, makes no fucking sense.

When you say you’re going to win not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7.... then you’re opening yourself up to criticism of high standards. LeBron failed against the Mavericks and to a lesser degree also failed against the Spurs

Simmons isn't going to thrive on a team that can't shoot and space the floor properly, period. Guys just aren't hitting shots...and they're playing out of position a lot.

Same reason Milwaukee surrounded Giannis with shooters. To make up for his lack of jump shot which is just now showing up and it's still well below average 7 seasons into his career. It allows him to operate and use his size and athleticism mismatch to the maximum. I'm not saying Simmons is Giannis, but he should be utilized the same way (Simmons is obviously more of a playmaker/passer and less of a scorer).

Once ben simmons or embiid joins another team that would be hilarious

Ben Simmons is one of those players who is just happy he made it to the NBA and therefore is famous.
Shaq and Charles said all that needs to be said about Embiid.

Both these 'superstars' are who Philly tanked for in order to get out of the NBA's 'treadmill status'.
Except they're right back where they were before they started tanking.
Bottom 4 playoff seed & bad contracts.
Philly will be this way for another 2-3 years before those pieces become movable and they have a chance to put different pieces around Embiid and Simmons.
Harris & Horford were mistakes. Okafor and Fultz were mistakes. Saric was a mistake.
You can't hit on every move. But at the end of the day Philly is just as treadmill as when they had Jrue starting.
