Russ is playing MVP caliber basketball! Since January it's hard to find a better player. Even Harden, Giannis and LeBron.

Russell Westbrook recorded his 36th straight games with 20+ points, the longest streak of his career.

In that span he's averaging:
30.7 PPG
8.1 RPG
6.9 APG
50.5 FG%

It's not going to be easy doing it for four straight playoff series. Seven-game series, but it's not entirely impossible.

The Rockets played some exceptional defense down the stretch against the Mavericks and Bucks. It's good to see!
They can lock down and play shutdown defense when they have. Making key stops. Rebounding is an issue though.

Let's see if the Rockets can beat the Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. 8 p.m. on TNT! Another nationally televised game.
They play the Lakers on Thursday night on TNT. Imagine going 4-0 at the bubble with wins over Dal, Mil, Por and LAL!

I need the rockets to lose on Thursday so the Blazers can make the playoffs.

I just hope the Rockets don't look past Portland on Tuesday night. The Rockets vs. Lakers on Thursday night will be the game everybody wants to see!

If Harden played that type of elite defense against Giannis down the stretch, more often, he'd have won 3 or 4 MVPs in the last five years.

At 37 seconds into the video. I love that! Harden tells that reporter, "Next question!" LOL

Harden's post-up defense is one of the best in the league. I wonder if he'll defend Anthony Davis or LeBron James on Thursday night?

I'm also excited to see Russell Westbrook play Damian Lillard tonight. Russ has been playing at an MVP level since January.
Right now I don't think there's a better duo at the Disney bubble then Harden and Russ. Maybe LeBron and AD. Debatable.

Giannis and Middleton, Luka and Kristaps, are playing amazing also but I wouldn't call them the best duo at the bubble.

In a normal year, sure, I could see that. At the Disney bubble when everybody has had four months to rest. I'm taking Harden and Russ! I'm just worried when the Houston Rockets win the 2020 NBA Finals a lot of people are going to complain and want an Asterisk by it. They're going to say that Harden and Westbrook only got it done because they were well rested and healthy. Even looking past the fact that Russ had tested positive for COVID-19 not long before the season restarted at the Disney bubble.

I now realize why Kawhi Leonard was so amazing in the playoffs last year and won a 'chip with the Raptors.
The dude hardly played the previous two seasons. Imagine if Harden had that luxury? We're finally seeing it!

All that time to rest for a strong playoff run can benefit any great player. Even an average player.

Also Robert Covington is averaging 2.5 blocks per game after 16 games with the Rockets. That would be good for the 2nd highest BPG this season. More than Brook Lopez, Anthony Davis and Rudy Gobert. Only Hassan Whiteside is averaging more. Covington has been a silent MVP for the Rockets since the Capela trade. He's very versatile and shows up on both ends of the court. Capela was very limited offensively (a poor man's Dwight Howard) and a bad free throw shooter.

People like to criticize Harden and Westbrook but all they do is play hard and try to win. They don't make any excuses.
