My marginal tax rate is 30%~

So I really take home 70% of my salary before any other deductions. Realistically I’m taking home 65% of my gross income.

Also, I just prefer to be happy where I am because my gf also pulls in a lot of money. So money technically isn’t an issue for us. I just need help determining whether or not I should get out of this hell.

But still.. if you live frugal with 65k year after tax u can retire early easily

Yeah combined my gf and I make really good money. So it doesn’t matter if I accept a job paying slightly less and be more happy. Being a CPA is just not as attractive as I thought it would be.

Honestly americans have it best. Skip college and avoid student debt and start making money. Then migrate to europe or other country where healthcare and food is cheap. As soon as you can afford a big house just migrate and rent it out 1 or 2 tenants. Thats what I would do. Houses are cheap in europe.

As an accounting and finance recruiter it depends on your goals down the road. You don’t need a CPA for tax/audit work. You would end up spending more money on the exams for a small return. CPA is much better served if you want to open a firm in the future or stay in the realm of public accounting. (Where you make much less money than private)

Goals = out of accounting. I want to be in finance/treasury/operations etc... anything that isn't accounting but has some sort of finance related aspect.
